Introduction

At Stitched Cup, our default position is to collect as little information as possible. We don’t run analytics, we don’t track users, and we don’t build profiles.

That said, we do operate two systems:

  1. Crash reporting — Users can opt in to send crash logs to help us identify and fix bugs.
  2. Website traffic logs — We log visits to our site in aggregate to understand usage patterns.

We’re intentionally restrictive about what we collect. Any information we do collect is used solely for the purposes described in this policy, and we take steps to minimize and protect it.

Below are the details.

Crash Logs

If you opt in to sending crash logs, we will have a copy of your crash logs.

If you’re using an App Store version of the app, and you opt in with Apple, then Apple has a copy and we have a copy.

Crash logs are stored privately and are kept confidential.

However, we may make all or significant parts of a crash log available publicly when there’s no personal identification in that part of the crash log.

We might make all of a crash log available (again, if there’s no personal identification), or just part. This is entirely for the purpose of fixing crashing bugs.

Website Logging

Visits to our website are logged via a standard logging mechanism, and this includes IP addresses.

Our website logs are confidential and stored privately.

We look at the logs in aggregate — for instance, to find how many times our app was downloaded on a given day.

No Cookies, JavaScript, Trackers, Ads

Neither our website nor our apps use any cookies, JavaScript, or trackers, and they do not display any ads.

Related sites

The Stitched Cup GitHub repository may use cookies and JavaScript, because that’s how GitHub works. The repository, including the issue tracker and anything you post there, is public. See GitHub’s privacy policy for more information.

Posting to the GitHub repository is optional, opt-in activity.

Third-Party Services

Our app may use the following third-party services, which also have access to basic technical information passing through their services and data stored using their resources:

  • Apple (Privacy policy): For App Store distribution and crash reporting
  • Cloudflare (Privacy policy): For website delivery and protection

We do not share your personal data with these services beyond what is necessary for their operation.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain crash logs and website logs only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which they were collected, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at privacy@stitchedcup.ca. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

Business Transfers

If Stitched Cup, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired, or in the unlikely event that Stitched Cup goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, this policy and its effects may change or be amended.

Privacy Policy Changes

Stitched Cup may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, at Stitched Cup’s sole discretion. Your continued use of our apps or website after any changes in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of these changes.

Information for Canadian Customers

Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)

Stitched Cup operates under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), which sets out rules for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information in the course of commercial activities.

Data Processing Outside Canada

By using our services, you acknowledge and consent to the collection, processing, and storage of your information in countries outside Canada, including the United States. This includes information processed by our third-party service providers (such as Apple and Cloudflare), which may be subject to local laws and regulations in those jurisdictions.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)

We never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13.

California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA)

We comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.

Information for European Union Customers

By using our app and providing your information, you authorize us to collect, use, and store your information outside of the European Union.

International Transfers of Information

Information may be processed, stored, and used outside of the country in which you are located. Data privacy laws vary across jurisdictions, and different laws may be applicable to your data depending on where it is processed, stored, or used.
